HORTON TOWNSHIP – A 29-year-old Brockway man sustained injuries of an unknown severity after a single-vehicle accident at 10:25 p.m. Monday on U.S. Route 219 east of Apollo Drive in Horton Township, Elk County, the Ridgway-based state police reported.
According to the accident report, Louis E. Kuhar, 29, of Brockway was traveling northbound at which time his vehicle exited the eastern side of the roadway for unknown reasons. Kuhar attempted to compensate and lost control of his vehicle, which began to spin clockwise.
At that point, the Kuhar vehicle struck an embankment with its front end. The vehicle overturned several times before coming to a rest on its passenger’s side, facing southwest. Kuhar wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was transported to the DuBois Regional Medical Center for treatment of unknown injuries.
The Kuhar vehicle was towed from the accident scene, according to the state police. The accident remains under investigation at this time with charges of careless driving currently pending against Kuhar.
