GOSHEN TOWNSHIP – An attic fire, which damaged a residence at 6178 Goshen Road, at 4:09 a.m. Friday has been ruled accidental, the Clearfield-based state police reported.
According to the report, the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and the Goshen Township Fire Department investigated the origin and cause of the fire. The fire damaged a two-story, wooden frame residential building.
The fire originated in the attic area and was determined to be accidental in nature. The occupants were asleep at the time of the fire, and fire alarms activated, allowing all to escape without injury, state police said.
State police identified the fire victims as Howard “Andy” and Melinda Krager and two children, all of Clearfield. The home sustained moderate fire damage and extensive water damage. Damage was estimated at $100,000.
