PA Plants Offers Secure License Renewal, Credit Card Payment
HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania agribusinesses can now renew some Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture issued licenses and pay by credit card securely online at www.paplants.state.pa.us.
Online renewal is available for fertilizer, feed, lime, plant merchant, seed dealer, apiary and soil and plant amendment licenses. Additionally, fertilizer, feed and lime tonnage can now be reported and paid online.
“For five years, PA Plants has been a one-stop-shop for plant industry professionals who use services provided by the agriculture department,” said Agriculture Secretary George Greig. “The new online license renewal feature is another way PA Plants is helping users manage their businesses and better regulate the state’s agricultural products.”
Other online services will be added this year, including renewals for pesticide business, dealer and applicator licenses; product registrations for fertilizer and soil and plant amendment products; and online payments for seed lab invoices.
In addition to license renewal, PA Plants allows apiarists and feed, fertilizer, lime, seed, pesticide and plant merchants to review their account information and check the status and test results of samples collected at their facilities. Certified pesticide applicators may also review their certification credit status and search for the location of training meetings and exam sites.
The department’s Bureau of Plant Industry provides services to maintain and protect Pennsylvania agriculture through consumer protection and product regulation. This includes detection, identification and control of destructive plant pests like diseases, insects and weeds. The bureau also administers laws and regulations relating to the distribution and sale of seed, feed, fertilizer, pesticides and liming materials.
