Elmer Park Erhard Sr., 79, of Levittown, PA. and formerly of the Curwensville, PA area, passed away Feb. 13, 2012 at his residence.
Born June 7, 1932 in Curwensville, PA, he was the son of Park and Agnes (Haversack) Erhard. Mr. Erhard was retired from U S Steel in Fairless Hills, PA, and also had worked for the Bucks County Courier Times Newspaper. He was a
U S Army Veteran of the Korean War, and was a member of the United Steel Workers Union Local 04889X. He was also a member of the United Steelworkers SOAR (Organization of Active Retirees).
Elmer was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and was an avid Phillies Fan
On April 24, 1955 in Kellytown, PA, he wed the former Dolores Coder who survives along with 3 children. Elmer P. Erhard Jr. and wife Kathy, Thomas Erhard and wife Michele, and Cindy Erhard all of Levittown, PA. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a sister and brother. Robert Erhard and wife Suzanne of White Plains, NY and Mae Way of Levittown, PA..
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services for Mr. Erhard will be held at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. 300 State St. Curwensville, PA. on Feb. 17 at 1:00 p.m. With the Reverend Charles M. Lee Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Fruit Hill Cemetery New Millport, PA.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Feb. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m., and Friday from 11 a.m. until time of services.
