St. Marys — On Monday night the Clearfield Bison boys basketball team matched up with a potential playoff opponent on the road at St. Marys.
The Bisons (8-13) fell to the Flying Dutch 73-53. The Bisons were led by Christian Lezzer and Robbie Myers, who were the only Bisons in double digits netting 16 and 12 points respectively.
The Bisons found themselves in an early hole as St. Marys started off the game with the hot hand by jumping out to a 22-8 first quarter lead.
For the most part of the first half the Bisons were able to keep the deficit at no more than 10 points. The Bisons finished the second quarter on a run to head into the half down 36-26.
In the third quarter the Bisons were able to narrow the score to a three-point game before St. Marys scored a string of unanswered buckets. At the end of the third period the Bisons found themselves down 54-45.
In the fourth quarter many Bison reserves found the floor in the final minutes as the clocked ticked away solidifying a 73-53 victory for the Dutch.
The Bisons will be back in action for their last regular season game on Weednesday when they travel to Punxsutawney.
