CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. announced today that a drug operation conducted by the Clearfield County Drug Task Force has resulted in arrest warrants being issued for 13 individuals involved in the sale of controlled substances.
Shaw stated that in the early morning of Feb. 10, members of the Clearfield County Drug Task Force spanned out throughout the county to serve the arrest warrants.
The Clearfield County Drug Task Force includes the following departments: the District Attorney’s Office, the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office, the Clearfield County Jail, the Clearfield County Probation Department and the DuBois City, Lawrence Township, Sandy Township, Decatur Township, Curwensville Borough, Clearfield Borough and Morris-Cooper Regional police departments.
Shaw said that these arrests are the positive results of a two-year cooperative drug investigation in Clearfield County. Shaw further explained that the comprehensive investigation, coordinated by the Clearfield County District Attorney’s Office and the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, Bureau of Narcotics Investigation (State College Office), focused on street and mid-level drug dealers, where many of the suspects were selling the controlled substances on the streets, in parking lots, in local establishments and in apartments and houses throughout the county.
Shaw said that once these suspected dealers were identified, the various law enforcement agencies combined resources and manpower to make controlled purchases from the drug dealers. Shaw also indicated that investigators utilized undercover agents/officers, surveillance, electronic intercepts and confidential informants to make controlled purchases of illegal drugs such as heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, various prescription medications and marijuana.
Shaw reported that arrest warrants have been issued for the following individuals as a result of the operation:
- Chad Butler, 28, of Moose Street, Clearfield
- Dennis Rauch, 24, of Patton Street, Clearfield
- Dexter Mclaughlin, 40, of South Second Street, Clearfield
- Sam Saverino, 21, of Lingle Street, Osceola Mills
- Michael D. Warrick, 21, of Hill Street, Clearfield
- Autumn Tillman, 25, of Fourth Avenue, Curwensville
- Robert A. Dixon Jr. ,24, of Barn Road, Clearfield
- Catherine L. Luzier, 42, of Egypt Road, Woodland
- Justin A. Dixon, age 33, of McFadden Road, Grampian
- Mark Hackett Sr., 50, of Mapes Avenue, Clearfield
- Charles Scott Mayhew, 25, of Valley View Drive, Clearfield
- Billie Jo Shaw, 26, of Valley View Drive, Clearfield
- Dennis Collins, 23, of Valley View Drive, Clearfield
Shaw stated that all 13 individuals will be prosecuted by the Clearfield County District Attorney’s Office.
Shaw commented that the District Attorney’s Office and the Clearfield County Drug Task Force will continue to crack down on those seeking to foster and feed devastating addiction, and these arrests should send a clear and resounding message that drug dealing will not be tolerated in Clearfield County.
Shaw thanked the various law enforcement agencies for their hard work and efforts to protect our neighborhoods and to hold accountable those who seek to sell drugs in our County. Shaw further noted that the local drug task force is made possible through funding and assistance received by the Office of Attorney General.
Shaw said the task force is getting geared-up for aggressive investigations of drug dealers in the area. Shaw said that over the past year, they have received a volume of anonymous calls and e-mails from concerned citizens reporting illegal drug activity. Shaw said that every effort is being made to respond to each report and that drug dealers in Clearfield County will not be tolerated.
