George Charles Skripek, 90, of Clearfield passed away, on Feb. 8, 2012 at the Clearfield Hospital.
He was born on May 12, 1921 in Moshannon, PA, the son of John P. and Verna (Karchmarick) Skripek.
Mr. Skripek was a graduate from the Technical School.
He was a Corporal in the U. S. Marine having served in South Pacific Theatre in the World War II.
Mr. Skripek he retired after 40 years of being the owner and operator of Skripek Electric Service prior to that he worked for Electric Supply, Inc.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield.
Mr. Skripek is survived by his wife, Marjorie (Hann) Skripek, whom he married on September 28, 1946 at Clarence, PA, a daughter, Mary Kushner and her husband, Don of Clearfield and a son, Gary Skripek and his wife Jeannie of Clearfield, four grandchildren; he was the Pap of Timothy L. Kushner and his wife Nicole of Olanta, PA, Joseph A. Kushner and his fiancée Angie of Clearfield, Kathleen M. Kushner of Curwensville and Casey L. Skripek of Clearfield, seven great grandchildren; Matt, Kyle, Jaelen, Nicholas, Jace, Kamden and Dalayni, and a sister, Margaret Kormantec of Akron, OH and brother, Stephen Skripek of Niagara Falls, NY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Craig Allen Skripek, two brothers; Michael and John and five sisters; Verna Guido, Agnes Long, Anna Nagy, Sue Edwards and Mary Krokoskie.
A Funeral Service will be held at Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield on February 13, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Msgr. Henry Krebs as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded at the Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Feb. 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
