Christina Muir Wasser, age 97, of Reed Street in Falls Creek, PA died Feb. 8, 2012 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center.
Born Jan. 24, 1915 in Bakerton, PA, she was the daughter of the late John & Annie (Jewett) Muir.
She graduated from Carrolltown High School in 1932.
Christina married LeRoy Charles Wasser in 1945. He preceded her in death in 1971.
She worked for Atlantic-Pacific Company and as a bookkeeper for the Sterling Division of Quaker State Oil in both Barnesboro and Falls Creek for many years.
Christina had been the oldest living member of Falls Creek and of her church, Falls Creek United Methodist Church. She served as church treasurer and in various other offices. She taught Vacation Bible School and was very active in United Methodist Women. She served as both president and treasurer of her local unit, chairman of the Brookville Sub-District and held offices in both the Kane and Indiana Districts.
Christina enjoyed cooking, reading, Scrabble, knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by one daughter, Gail Anne Wasser with whom she lived, a brother, William J. Muir of Northern Cambria, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Muir and two sisters, Agnes Muir and Sarah Dooley.
Visitation will be held on Feb. 12 from 2-5 p.m. at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be on Feb. 13 at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home with Pastor Debra Rogosky officiating.
Burial will be in Beechwoods Cemetery.
