An incident of public drunkenness occurred at approximately 6:19 p.m. Sunday at the Bigler Mini Mart along U.S. Route 322 in Bradford Township. A 23-year-old Morrisdale woman was alleged to have been highly intoxicated and bothering customers inside the store. She wasn’t able to speak clearly and advised to leave. The woman was transported to the Clearfield Hospital for further evaluation. A summary citation for public drunkenness was filed through the district court.
An incident of DUI occurred at approximately 2:10 p.m. Saturday along state Route 253 near the Alley Popper in Woodward Township. A 53-year-old Clearfield woman was arrested for suspicion of DUI after being stopped for a traffic violation. She was transported to the Clearfield-based state police station for blood tests. Charges are currently pending.
An incident of DUI occurred at 7:40 p.m. Saturday along Blackburn Road near Locust Street in Bigler Township. A 24-year-old Madera man allegedly drove his vehicle off the roadway and became stuck. At arrival, state police called a tow truck, and the man was determined to be DUI. Charges are currently pending blood test results.
At 1 a.m. Sunday, James Burton, 50, of Kersey was traveling along state Route 153 in Pine Township when his vehicle burst into flames. No injuries were reported as a result. His vehicle sustained serious damage.
A hit-and-run accident occurred at 11:55 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of the Alley Popper in Gulich Township. An operator of a dark-colored Ford pick-up was turning around and backing up, while a 1994 Jeep Wrangler was parked. The truck impacted the Jeep’s driver’s side front wheel and fender. The operator failed to remain at the scene and fled heading north on SR 253. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Clearfield-based state police at 814-857-3800.
A DUI-related accident occurred at 2:30 a.m. Sunday along SR 53 near Rollingstone Road in Cooper Township. A 24-year-old Philipsburg man was traveling south when his vehicle went off the western berm and struck the embankment. His vehicle overturned twice before coming to a rest on its wheels, facing east. The man sustained minor injury in the accident and was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. Charges are pending blood test results. Police were assisted at the scene by the Winburne Fire Department, Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services and Folmar’s Towing.
An incident of criminal mischief/disorderly conduct occurred at 5 a.m. Saturday along Florence Street in Chester Hill Borough. A 32-year-old Pottsville man and a 24-year-old Philipsburg man arrived at a 25-year-old Philipsburg woman’s residence, causing a disturbance. The first accused allegedly damaged the door and light fixture on her residence and on a 25-year-old Philipsburg man’s vehicle. Charges are pending against him for both criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. Charges are currently pending against the second accused man for disorderly conduct.
An incident of retail theft occurred at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Tracy’s Tanning in Chester Hill Borough. A 22-year-old Philipsburg woman allegedly stole a bottle of suntan lotion. She was charged with retail theft.
