CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced the capture of a wanted fugitive.
Shaw identified the Fugitive as Cory Eminhizer, age 30, of Grassflat Avenue, Grassflat, Pennsylvania.
Eminhizer was added to the Clearfield County Fugitive of the Week list on Nov. 21, 2011.
Shaw stated that Eminhizer is wanted for failure to appear at criminal call on Nov. 17, 2011.
On May 26, Trooper Robert Straw of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield Barracks, filed a criminal complaint charging Eminhizer with:1) driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substance, M; 2) registration and certificate of title required, S; 3) driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, S; 4) required financial responsibility, S; 5) driving on roadways laned for traffic, S; and 6) operation of vehicle without official certificate of inspection, S.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Straw states that on May 19, the Pennsylvania State Police responded to the scene of a one vehicle accident on Main Street in Cooper Township. Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, Straw detected signs of impairment and requested that Eminhizer perform field sobriety tests. After administering the field sobriety tests, Eminhizer was transported for blood alcohol testing.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 6, at which time all charges were held for Court. On Nov. 17, 2011, Eminhizer failed to appear for Criminal Call and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Shaw stated that an anonymous tip to the Curwensville Borough Police Department provided the location of Eminhizer. On Nov. 22, 2011, Officers from the Curwensville Borough Police Department apprehended Eminhizer, and he was taken into custody without incident.
Shaw thanked the Curwensville Borough Police Department for their hard work and assistance with this case.
