JUNIATA — The one attribute about this year’s Clearfield Lady Bison basketball team that is very evident is how the team is able to bounce back following a loss. After being defeated on Thursday night at home against St. Marys, head coach Joey Castagnolo and his team was ready to get back on the winning side of the season.
In order to do that, they had to be victorious on the road as the team made the long trip to Juniata to face the Lady Indians. That long road trip was worth it as after 32 minutes, it was Clearfield that was on the better side of the scoreboard.
The Lady Bisons got their 11th win of the season, against five losses, with a 59-53 victory over the Lady Indians.
The Bisons were led once again in scoring by Breanna Peters, who netted a game-high 27 points. No other Lady Bison reached double figures in scoring.
Six more games remain in the regular season for Clearfield as they will return to the hardwood Monday night January 30 as they play host to the Lady Rams of Penns Valley. Clearfield won the first match-up between the two schools on January 14 in a 59-45 contest that was played on a rare Saturday.
Tip off for the jayvee game is set for 6 p.m. with the varsity contest to immediately follow.
