CLEARFIELD — Coming off of a much needed win over Huntingdon on Wednesday night, the Clearfield Bison basketball team pulled off a big home league win against Juniata on Friday night.
The Bisons put on a third quarter offensive explosion to earn the victory. Trey Jordan had a monster game for Clearfield with a season high 20 points, while Robbie Myers stayed steady right around his season average pouring in 15 points.
Things were tight for the Bisons during the onset of the game mustering only a four point advantage in the first period.
During the second quarter the Bisons started to slowly pull away taking a 33-19 advantage at halftime
In the third quarter the Bisons started to really pull away and perhaps capitalized when Juniata’s head coach received two bench techniquals and was ejected from the game. Andrew McCracken’s free throws pushed the Bisons lead to 22 points.
In the fourth every Bison reserve saw substantial playing time and finished out the Bisons 65-49 victory.
Clearfield (7-8) will be back in action in a league game Tuesday when they travel to Martinsburg to take on the Central Dragons.
