UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Junior Sharaya Musser (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was named the Big Ten Gymnast of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. This is the sixth Gymnast of the Week award of Musser’s career.
Musser guided Penn State to a first place finish in a tri-meet at West Virginia on Jan. 8. The Nittany Lions scored a 195.775, while West Virginia finished second with a 195.100 and Maryland took third place with a 194.225.
Musser earned three individual event titles on her way to the all-around crown. She posted a 9.900 on vault, a 9.900 on beam and a 9.850 on bars en route to first place in all three events. Musser also tied for second on floor with a 9.850 and combined for a 39.500 all-around score.

The women’s gymnastics team remains on the road for a trip to New Hampshire on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 1 p.m. The Nittany Lions return home for their home opener on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. Penn State hosts Michigan State, Cornell and No. 2 Alabama.
