HORTON TOWNSHIP – Two people were moderately injured following a single-vehicle accident at 8:45 a.m. Friday along U.S. Route 219 east of state Route 153 in Horton Township, Elk County.
The Ridgway-based state police identified the vehicle’s injured occupants as operator Major L. Reeves, 75, and his passenger, Linda A. Papa, 59, both of Ridgway. Both were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
According to the report, the Reeves vehicle was traveling southbound when it crossed the roadway, striking the guiderails along the east berm. The vehicle then crossed back over Route 219 and struck an embankment at which time it came to a rest along the west berm.
