No injuries were reported following a three-vehicle accident at 9:05 a.m. Thursday along U.S. Route 322 east of Irwin Drive in Decatur Township, Clearfield County. A freightliner driven by a 56-year-old Altoona man was attempting to turn left from the Peebles Plaza onto U.S. Route 322, while a Ford Explorer operated by Calandra R. Kline, 22, of Smoke Run was traveling east. An International Harvester operated by Daniel J. Kepner, 45, of McClure was stopped in the center turning lane, waiting to make a left turn into the Peebles Plaza. The man who was operating the freightliner didn’t observe the Kline vehicle approaching so he started making the left turn. Kline attempted to go around the freightliner, but the passenger side of her vehicle impacted the driver side front end of the freightliner. The impact caused the Kline vehicle to begin spinning in a clockwise direction for a short distance before its rear impacted the driver side front end of the International Harvester. The freightliner’s operator will be cited for vehicles entering or crossing the roadway. All occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
