Raymond G. Young, 93, DuBois died Tuesday as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born July 18, 1918 in Culpepper, VA, he was the son of the late Burt L. and Geraldine (Harcourt) Young.
He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army in the army infantry. He was an infantryman in the Utah Invasion.
He owned Young’s Heating and Air Conditioning and was a member of the Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Local Union 354. After retiring, he served as a pastor for the Bible Missionary Church in Clearfield and was a board member for the Bible Missionary camp ground.
On Oct. 14, 1938, he married Grace E. (Ormiston) Young. She preceded him in death on July 11, 2009.
He is survived by a daughter, Ruth Trumbo of Winchester, VA and three sons, Â Raymond Young and his wife, Barb, Daniel Young and his wife, Laurie, all of DuBois and Paul Young and his wife, Vicky of Costa Rica; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Young was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, his sister, Blanche and two brothers, Walt and Vernon.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home in DuBois.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Zimmerman officiating.
Full military honors will be conducted by the DuBois Area Honor Guard from the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery.
