James Anthony Polites, 51, of Clearfield died Monday, Dec. 19 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Dec. 1, 1960, he was the son of James Vincent andCarol (Patterson) Polites.
Mr. Polites worked for the Extrude Home Corp as a fabricator; for the SONY Corp as an assembly man and warehouse worker; for Treasure Lake as a maintenance worker; and for the Reynoldsville Casket Co as a casket fabricator.
He was a member of St. Bonaventure’s Roman Catholic Church in Grampian.
Surviving are his mother of Grampian; two sons, James Anthony Polites and his wife, Erin Thomas Polites and Daniel Scott Polites, all of Greensburg; four brothers, Timothy Glenn Polites and his companion, Misty Grassmyer of Clearfield; Jacqueline Dennis of Mount Holly, NJ; Scott Vincent Polites and his wife, Dixie and Daniel Joseph Polites and his wife, Kimberly, all of Grampian.
Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Katie Polites, Tad Polites, Casey Polites, Daniel Polites Jr., Dylan Polites, Tiffany Dennis, Danielle Aughenbaugh, Brittany Dennis, Katelyn Polites, Cody Dennis, Melissa Daisher, Justin Grassmyer and Draven Scott Dotts, and great nieces and great nephews Lane Ciamacco, Jaden Tucker and Ryder Polites.
He was preceded in death by his father; his maternal grandparents, Glenn and Eleanor (Shaffer) Patterson; his paternal grandparents, Tony and Helen (Sass) Polites; his former wife, Diane; and several aunts and uncles.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Bonaventure’s Roman Catholic Church, Main Street, Grampian, with the Rev. Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Bonaventure’s Cemetery Grampian.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 pm. And 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville and from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Friday at which time the procession will depart for the church. A Scripture Vigil Service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
