James Anthony Polites, 51, of Clearfield, passed away Dec. 19, 2011 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.
Born Dec. 1, 1960 in Clearfield, he was the son of James Vincent and
Carol (Patterson) Polites. Mr. Polites had worked for the following. Extrude Home Corp as a fabricator, SONY Corp as an assemble man and Warehouse worker, Treasure Lake as a maintenance worker, and last had worked at the Reynoldsville Casket Co as a casket fabricator.
He was a member of St. Bonaventure’s Roman Catholic Church in Grampian.
Surviving are his mother of Grampian, two sons James Anthony Polites and his wife Erin Thomas Polites and Daniel Scott Polites both of Greensburg, 4 brothers Timothy Glenn Polites and his companion Misty Grassmyer of Clearfield, Jacqueline Dennis of Mt. Holly, NJ, Scott Vincent Polites and his wife Dixie and Daniel Joseph Polites and his wife Kimberly both of Grampian.
Also surviving are nieces and nephews Katie Polites, Tad Polites, Casey Polites, Daniel Polites Jr., Dylan Polites, Tiffany Dennis, Danielle Aughenbaugh, Brittany Dennis, Katelyn Polites, Cody Dennis, Melissa Daisher, Justin Grassmyer, and Draven Scott Dotts, and great nieces and great nephews Lane Ciamacco, Jaden Tucker and Ryder Polites.
He was preceded in death by his father, his maternal grandparents Glenn and Eleanor (Shaffer) Patterson, his paternal grandparents Tony and Helen (Sass) Polites, his former wife Diane, and several aunts and uncles.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bonaventure’s Roman Catholic Church Main Street Grampian, on Dec. 30 at 10:00 a.m., with the Reverend Father Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Bonaventure’s Cemetery Grampian, PA
Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Dec. 29 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday from 9 to 9:30 a.m., when the procession will depart for the church. A Scripture Vigil Service will be conducted at the funeral home Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
