UNIVERSITY PARK – In light of several ongoing investigations and inquiries at the University, Penn State has requested additional time to respond to questions asked by NCAA President Mark Emmert in a Nov. 17 letter.
Penn State Vice President and General Counsel Cynthia Baldwin said that, in the course of conversation with the NCAA on this matter, “it became evident that the questions being asked in your letter might be answered in the course of the investigations currently in progress.”
Baldwin said the NCAA will have access to the report of the Special Investigations Task Force, and that the University understands the NCAA will continue to monitor investigations taking place at Penn State. In addition to the task force’s investigation, the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office and the U.S. Department of Education, among others, are conducting investigations and inquiries.
