UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State students wishing to purchase tickets for the No. 22 Nittany Lions’ match-up with No. 19 Houston in the Jan. 2 TicketCity Bowl still can do so before heading home for the holiday break by visiting the Bryce Jordan Center Ticket Office.
Students presenting their valid ID+ card may purchase two tickets in the student section at $75 each. Purchases can be made with cash or a credit card. All Penn State student tickets will be positioned together to create a unified Penn State student section in the Cotton Bowl.
Penn State Commonwealth Campus students, or students who already have left University Park for break can call 1-800-NITTANY for the remainder of this week to purchase. A credit card must be used for all phone purchases and an additional standard handling fee of $6 per ticket will be added. All tickets purchased by phone through Dec. 19 will be mailed. After that date, tickets will be picked up at will-call.
Penn State and Wisconsin tied for the Big Ten Leaders Division title with 6-2 records. The Nittany Lions (9-3) will play Houston (12-1) in the TicketCity Bowl in Dallas on Jan. 2. The contest is the first bowl game of 2012. Penn State’s 27 bowl wins are No. 3 nationally and 43 bowl visits are good for No. 8 in the nation. The Nittany Lions lead all Big Ten teams in bowl victories and winning percentage (65.1, 27-14-2 record) and are No. 2 in bowl appearances.
Penn State is playing in a New Year’s bowl game for the sixth time in the last seven years.
