WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – A 21-year-old Parker man was flown to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center following a two-vehicle accident Saturday night along Interstate 80 between mile markers 92 and 91.8 in Washington Township, Jefferson County.
The DuBois-based state police identified the man as Michael G. Boylan, 21, of Parker. State police didn’t indicate the severity of his injuries in their report. He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.
According to the report, Boylan was traveling westbound at 11:45 p.m., while a freightliner driven by Armando J. Vicinay, 59, of Crest Hill, IL was traveling in the same direction. The Boylan vehicle rear-ended the Vicinay freightliner, state police said.
Neither Vicinay nor Boylan’s passenger, Gary A. Leschner, 22, of Port Allegheny were injured as a result of the accident. Both were wearing their seatbelts.
State police were assisted at the scene by Trooper David Kunz, the Falls Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Du-San Ambulance, DuBois Emergency Medical Services and Stat Medevac.
The investigation is currently ongoing into the accident. Charges of careless driving are pending against Boylan.
