Thomas “Tom” L. DeFazio Sr., 65, of DuBois died Friday at the DuBois Nursing Home.
Born April 19, 1946 in Punxsutawney, he was the only son of the late James and Rose DeFazio.
He was retired, previously employed by Owens-Illinois Brockway and previously the owner and manager of DeFazio’s Tasty Freeze in Brookville for 13 years.
He was Catholic in faith, a standout high school basketball player at S.S.C.D. in Punxsutawney. He enjoyed sports, woodworking and spending time with his family.
He was married for 31 years to the late Frances E. DeFazio and who he joined in union with on Nov. 20, 1965. She preceded him in death April 15, 1997.
Surviving are his two sons and daughter, James DeFazio and his wife, Kori of Reynoldsville, Thomas DeFazio Jr. and his wife, Julie of Panama City, FL and daughter, Elizabeth Johnson and her husband, Gregg of Brockport. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and wife.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Sunday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home in DuBois.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home with Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Punxsutawney.
