Edna Louise Droll, 84, of Philipsburg and formerly of West Decatur died Friday at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg.
Born Aug. 9, 1927 in Coupon, she was the daughter of the late George D. and Myrtle (Beck) Smith.
She was a homemaker and also had worked at the General Cigar Factory.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She married William Earl Droll Sr. Sept. 3, 1948 in Philipsburg and who preceded her in death March 26, 1996.
She’s survived by one daughter, Shelia Dean and her husband, Robert “Jody” of Philipsburg; one daughter-in-law, Kathy L. Droll of Woodland; and one sister, Verna Conway of Altoona.
Also surviving are five grandchildren, Tracie Hockenberry, William Droll, Jeff Droll, Brittany Dean and Corey Dean;
Two step-grandchildren Christina Dean and Maranda Dean; eight great-grandchildren, Ashlee Knepp, Rona Knepp, Zachary Droll, Brandon Droll, Jaret Droll, Cheyenne Droll, Zoey Knepp and Amber Hockenberry; three great great-grandchildren, Jailynne, Natalie, Mea; a special niece, Jeannette Couch of Philipsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She’s survived by her cat “Junior.”
In addition to her parents and husband, she’s preceded in death by a son, William E. Droll Jr., and two sisters, Jane Couch and Viola Blake.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg with the Rev. Raymond L. Droll officiating.
Burial will be in Reidy cemetery, Wallaceton.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
