The Penn State New Kensington’s men’s basketball team will conclude its longest homestand of the season at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8, against Penn State Fayette in the campus’ Athletics Center. The team will finish the 2011 portion of its schedule at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at Penn State York.
Coach Doug Schneider’s team is 2-2 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference and 3-4 overall. The New Kensington Lions are coming off an 82-76 overtime loss Dec. 3 against Penn State Worthington-Scranton. Senior forward Justin Reed scored a team-high 19 points followed by sophomore guard Daryl Harrington with 17 points and freshman guard Lamont Wright with 15. Harrington had seven assists and five steals.
After the Dec. 10 game in York, the New Kensington Lions will take their annual four-week holiday break. The team will return to action at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, versus Penn State Mont Alto in the Athletics Center.
