APPRISE Counselors Available to Help with Decisions
HARRISBURG – As the Dec. 7 deadline for Medicare annual enrollment fast approaches, Pennsylvania Secretary of Aging Brian Duke is reminding older Pennsylvanians to use the state’s APPRISE program for help in choosing a health plan that works for them.Â
“If you are a Medicare enrollee and wish to make a change in your coverage, now is the time to do so,” said Duke. “There is less than a week left to make a decision. An APPRISE counselor can provide information in clear terms and help you choose a plan that suits your needs.”
APPRISE-trained volunteers work through the local Area Agencies on Aging to deal with questions and concerns of older adults as well as provide clear and concise information for individuals in choosing an appropriate Medicare health and/or prescription plan.
Contact APPRISE, toll-free, at 1-800-783-7067.
Consumers can also complete their own plan comparisons by accessing the plan finder tool on the Medicare website at www.medicare.gov/find-a-plan.
