OBERLIN, Ohio – Oberlin junior defensive back David Kalgren of Curwensville has been named to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference Second Team for the second year in a row.
The 6-0, 195-pounder made 52 tackles, including 44 solo stops that were good for a share of the team lead, intercepted two passes and broke up six passes.
According to the Oberlin football website article, several opponents did not test the right cornerback as much as last season when he led the NCAC in interceptions with four.
The Yeomen were 2-4 in the conference and 3-7 overall.
Kalgren has been a three-year starter, two in the secondary after being shifted to quarterback his rookie season because of injuries.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Junior placekicker Parker Herrington of Clearfield accounted for nine points as Air Force (7-5) became bowl eligible for the fifth consecutive year with a 45-21 win over host Colorado State (3-8) in Mountain West Conference action on Sonny Lubick Field Saturday night.
A Hughes Stadium crowd of 14,107 saw the Falcons explode for 31 points in the second quarter, with Herrington booting a 22-yard field goal in addition to four of his six extra points.
Herrington has made 15 of 18 field goal attempts and 40 of 43 PATs for 85 points.
He leads the conference in field goal percentage (83.3) and field goals per game (1.25) and is second in scoring among kickers.
In overall MWC scoring, Herrington is fourth in total points and fifth in points per game with 7.1.
Air Force finished 3-4 in the MWC and awaits a possible bowl bid after a school-record fifth consecutive season with at least seven wins.

MEN’S BASKETBALL
ALLIANCE, Ohio – Junior starting guard Matt Shiner of Clearfield scored nine points on a trio of three-pointers for Westminster (1-3)
in an 88-64 non-conference loss to host Mount Union (3-1) at the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex on Nov. 22.
Shiner also had two assists 24 minutes of action.
The Titans led 41-39 at intermission, but the Raiders heated up to shoot 70 percent from the field in the second half.
Shiner has scored 29 points with four rebounds, five assists and one steal.
