WOODWARD TOWNSHIP – A 28-year-old Irvona man was moderately injured after a single-vehicle, alcohol-related accident at approximately 2:20 a.m. Saturday in Woodward Township, Clearfield County.
According to the accident report, the man was traveling west along the 1300 block of Kendrick Road when he went off the roadway for unknown reasons. His vehicle struck a tree in a residential yard.
After impact, the man’s vehicle continued west, where it struck a second tree in the same yard before reentering the roadway. His vehicle came to a final rest in the middle of the roadway, facing north.
The man was trapped inside his vehicle and had to be extricated. He was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI, according to the accident report.
A passenger, Jason S. Ball, 26, of Houtzdale sustained minor injuries, while a second passenger, Gregory S. Rosenberg, 26, of Huntingdon wasn’t injured as a result of the accident.
The investigation is continuing at this time.
