Jobe Simcox, 93, of Philipsburg died Thursday at Windy Hill Village. He was born Nov. 8, 1918 at Pleasant Hill, as the son of the late James and Mary Elizabeth (Ginnick) Simcox.
Mr. Simcox was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Philipsburg. He was a carpenter and worked at G.M. McCrossin Inc.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during World War II and a member of the F&AM Moshannon Lodge #391. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
He married Sarah Rebecca (Gilham) Simcox, who survives him, on March 21, 1941 in Philipsburg
Mr. Simcox is survived by two sons, David Simcox and his wife, JoEllen of Philipsburg and Jobe Larry Simcox and his wife, Connie of Landenberg.
Surviving are a son-in-law, Warren Nottingham of Dunkirk, MD; a brother Enoch Simcox of Dubois; and a sister, Sara Goss of Clearfield.
He’s also survived by seven grandchildren, Jobe Harold Simcox, Jennifer Gotimer, Patricia Garzone, Gregory Nottingham, Benjamin Simcox, Katelynn Simcox and Lauren Simcox and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Simcox was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Susann Nottingham, two grandsons, Jon Nottingham and Alan Nottingham, two brothers, James Simcox and Robert Simcox and a sister, Frances Cassick.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, PA with the Rev. Mark Thumma officiating.
Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday at the funeral home.
