Anna Marie Bixler, 70, of Clearfield passed away at her home on Nov. 15, 2011.
She was born on Jan. 10, 1941 in Altoona, PA, the daughter of Verino J. and Mary (Yocibucci) Dandrea, Sr.
Anna graduated from Seton Hill College, Waynesburg, PA and had taught elementary school in the Altoona Central Catholic School until she retired in 1978.
She was a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church of Clearfield.
Anna volunteered with Lifeline, RSVP, SPCA and Clearfield CAST and was a member of the Clearfield L.I.F.T. Group, a social support group for widows and widowers.
She is survived by three children; Tammy L. Selfridge and her husband Steve of Clearfield, Lynne D. Danielson and her husband Steve of Alexandria, VA and Kyle H. Bixler and his wife Diana of Linden, PA; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers; Verino J. Dandrea, Jr. and his wife Mary Lou of Huntingdon, PA and Albert Dandrea and his wife Pat of Melbourne, FL and is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lyle F. Bixler whom she married on October 21, 1978 and who passed away on July 22, 2005.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Nov. 19 at St. Francis Roman Catholic Church at
10:00 a.m. with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Andrews Cemetery, Valley View, PA.
Friends will be received at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield on Nov. 18 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Christian Vigil Service will be on Nov. 18 at 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
