Sylvia B. Owens, 81, of Clearfield, PA passed away Nov. 1, 2011 at the Clearfield Hospital.
She was born June 18, 1930 in DuBois, PA, the daughter of William Haines and Bessie Edith (Lytle) Ashton.
She was a homemaker.
Sylvia was a member of the former Main Street United Methodist Church, Mineral Springs.
She is survived by two daughters; Peggy Kassab and her husband Louis of Sneads Ferry, NC and Dawnell Kline and her husband Gordon “Cork” of Clearfield, PA., two granddaughters; Angela Miller and her husband Dennis and Karin Kassab , two great grandchildren; Kaelen and Caleb Burdsall and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sylvia was the last member of her generation.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald L. Owens who passed away Nov. 25, 1987 and whom she married June 29, 1951, two brothers; Robert and Lyle Ashton and two sisters; Betty Samuels and Reba Milligan.
Funeral services will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., of Clearfield on Nov. 5 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. John White officiating. Interment will be held in the Bradford Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Nov. 4 from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the services.
