No injuries were reported following a single-vehicle accident at 11:15 p.m. Saturday along state Route 948 in Ridgway Township, Elk County. A 17-year-old Ridgway boy was traveling north when he lost control of his vehicle on the icy roadway and started to swerve. His vehicle left the roadway and struck a ditch on the east side, causing it to overturn and coming to a rest on its wheels. He and his four passengers were not injured as a result of the accident. They were all wearing seatbelts, police said. The boy’s vehicle sustained disabling damage.
An incident of driving under the influence reportedly occurred at 6:53 p.m. Oct. 26 along Silver Creek Road in Ridgway Township, Elk County. A 29-year-old Elmira, NY man was found in a wooded area along the roadway. While speaking with him, police noticed a strong odor of alcoholic beverage. He was subsequently arrested for DUI and other summary charges.
An incident of DUI reportedly occurred at 2 a.m. Saturday along state Route 255 in Fox Township, Elk County. State police conducted a routine traffic stop on a vehicle driven by a 63-year-old Kersey woman. As a result of preliminary investigation, the woman was arrested for DUI and transported for blood testing at the Elk Regional Health Center. Charges are to be filed for DUI and related summary traffic violations.
No injuries were reported following a single-vehicle accident at 7:05 a.m. Friday along SR 219 in Ridgway Township, Elk County. Donald J. Fabiano, 55, of Ridgway was traveling south when a deer crossed from the east berm in front of his vehicle. His vehicle struck the deer before coming to a controlled stop at the scene. He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the mishap.
