A hit-and-run accident was reported at 3:54 p.m. Friday at Mary’s Lane at Lochlomond Road in Rush Township, Centre County. An unknown motorist was turning around their red truck tractor, which towed a white trailer, and backed into a car port, causing property damage. The motorist failed to stop and left the scene, traveling west on Lochlomond Road. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Philipsburg-based state police at 814-342-3370.
No injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident 10:25 a.m. Thursday along state Route 53 in Philipsburg Borough, Centre County. A 93-year-old Philipsburg woman attempted to travel through the intersection of Second and Presqueisle streets. Her vehicle traveled north on Second Street into the intersection without yielding to approaching traffic. A vehicle operated by Wade P. Nolan, 60, of Derry struck the woman’s vehicle. Both operators pulled their vehicles off the west berm of Presqueisle Street, where they came to a final rest.
Minor injuries were reported following a two-vehicle accident at 5:45 p.m. Thursday along U.S. Route 322 in Rush Township, Centre County. A 72-year-old Philipsburg woman was attempting to pull out of a private driveway, while a vehicle driven by Valerie J. Patrick, 57, of Philipsburg was traveling up the hill eastbound. The first woman pulled onto the roadway and into the path of the Patrick vehicle, which had the right-of-way. The Patrick vehicle struck the left front corner of the first vehicle. Upon impact, the Patrick vehicle’s driver airbag deployed, and the vehicle became disabled in the middle of the eastbound lane. A passenger of the first vehicle, Daisey K. Reiter, 75, of Philipsburg, sustained minor injuries. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. The first operator was cited for failure to yield.
