CLEARFIELD – “The mission is simple: To Ride and Have Fun.” Yet, the Tri-County H.O.G. (Harley Owners Group) offers so much more. This group, consisting of over 250 local community members throughout the Tri-County area, strives to give back to their communities while enjoying their “ride.”
Through numerous fundraisers, this family-oriented group continues to raise money and then return it to local organizations. On Oct. 25, the group’s treasurer, Rick Coudriet, presented the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging, Inc. (CCAAA) with a $500 donation for their Blizzard Box program.
Every year, the CCAAA sends emergency Blizzard Box meals to homebound older citizens throughout the county. Consumers are encouraged to keep the meals on their shelf for stormy winter days when the Agency can’t deliver a hot meal. Since 1983, local Rotary Clubs, individuals, and businesses have pulled together with the CCAAA to fund this valuable program. One hundred percent of all donations are used solely for this program to ensure that homebound older citizens have something nutritious to eat during severe winter weather.
The generous contribution made by the Tri-County H.O.G. will provide blizzard boxes, each containing three meals, to 50 local citizens. The CCAAA is looking for additional people to sponsor Blizzard Boxes. A $10 sponsorship will cover the cost of the food and supplies necessary to complete a 3-meal blizzard box. If you would like to participate, please visit www.ccaaa.net or call (814) 765-2696 for additional information.
