Marvin E. Williams, 81, of Gearhartville died Thursday at the Tyrone Hospital.
Born July 18, 1930 in Bigler, he was the son of the late Clarke Nile and Lena (Wisor) Williams. Mr. Williams was a member of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Philipsburg and a life member of the B.P.O. Elks #1173, Philipsburg.
He was a heavy equipment mechanic with State Equipment International, Chester Hill, until his retirement. He had also worked as a truck driver and as a substitute postman.
Mr. Williams married the former E. Christine Copelin on Oct. 22, 1949 in Gearhartville. She survives him at home.
He’s survived by two daughters, Susan M. Wilks and her husband, Fred G. of Philipsburg and Joan C. Williams and her husband, Greg Baughman of Morrisdale and one son, Allan A. Williams and his wife, Susan of Munson.
Surviving are five sisters, Fay English of Bigler; Geneva Snyder, Marjorie Smeal and Patricia Wallace and her husband, Ardell, all of Clearfield; and Maxine Owens and her husband, Russell of Shiloh and one brother, Clair Williams and his wife, Jean of Hyde.
Mr. Williams is also survived by three grandchildren, Gary N. Wilks of Graham Station, Scott Williams of Munson and Rachael Williams of Pittsburgh and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Philipsburg, with the Rev. William R. Walker officiating. Interment will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery.
There will be no public visitation.
