Official Pink Zone Site | Survivor Registration Form
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Once again, the Penn State Lady Lions and Fullington Trailways are teaming up to make this year’s WBCA Pink Zone at Penn State game a success. Fullington Trailways, Susquehanna Trailways and Martz Trailways will provide service to the Pink Zone at Penn State game on Sunday, Feb. 26 versus Minnesota from 13 Pennsylvania cities.
Fullington Trailways will have buses depart from Huntingdon, DuBois/Clearfield, Bedford/Altoona, Harrisburg/Hershey/York, and Lewistown, while Susquehanna Trailways will service Williamsport/Lock Haven and Martz Trailways will bring survivors from Scranton/Wilkes Barre. Fullington Trailways is also encouraging survivors to work together to fill buses this year. If survivors living outside of the areas previously listed feel they can fill a bus (45-50 people), then they are encouraged to call Fullington for more information.
Seats on the bus are first come, first served and a reservation and ticket for the bus are required. Breast cancer survivors can register for special ticket packages that include free tickets for each survivor and up to three family members or friends, with additional tickets available for $5 each (regular price $12), participation in a special halftime ceremony to honor ALL Breast Cancer Survivors and tickets to a postgame reception for survivors and their guests. Additional information and registration forms for survivors can be found at www.gopsusports.com/pinkzone.
"The Fullington Family and employees are pleased, once again, to be involved in the 2012 WBCA Pink Zone Penn State," Lory Fullington, Fullington Vice President for Charters and Tours said. "We became involved in Penn State and Pink Zone’s fight against breast cancer because cancer has had a tremendous impact on our family, friends, employees, and customers."
"Last year, Fullington Trailways was named the 2011 Lady Lion Basketball Pink Zone Champion Award Winner due to our participation in the event by transporting survivors to the Lady Lion basketball game," Fullington added. "All of us at Fullington Trailways are honored to do our part again in helping raise awareness and funding for such a worthy cause."
This extraordinary partnership began last year when Fullington Trailways offered to provide free buses from several locations across Pennsylvania to bring breast cancer survivors and their families/guests to the 2011 WBCA Pink Zone at Penn State game. All totaled, 10 buses came from Harrisburg, Hershey, Bedford, Altoona, DuBois, Clearfield, Huntingdon and Lewistown to help bring more than 300 survivors to the event.
The 2012 WBCA Pink Zone at Penn State will take place on Sunday, Feb. 26 as the Lady Lions take on Minnesota in the Bryce Jordan Center. Last year, the Lady Lions donated nearly $200,000 for breast cancer causes. This year’s fundraising efforts will benefit the Mount Nittany Medical Center, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital and Lewistown Hospital. For more information on the Pink Zone at Penn State, visit the official Pink Zone website at www.gopsusports.com/pinkzone.
