UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State students have an opportunity to attend the Nittany Lions’ Big Ten primetime clash at Northwestern on Oct. 22. Students who want to attend the game can purchase a ticket at Gate B (northeast corner) of the Bryce Jordan Center beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 17.
A limited number of tickets will be made available on a first-come, first served basis for the contest in Evanston. Each student will be permitted to purchase one $50 ticket and must present a valid Penn State ID+ Card to secure a ticket. All sales of all tickets will be done on a cash only basis. Credit cards and checks will not be accepted.
Students wanting to purchase tickets so that they may sit together at the Northwestern game will need to make their ticket purchase together at Gate B of the BJC Monday morning. Students may arrive at the Jordan Center at 6 a.m. on Monday for the sale.
If student tickets still remain after 8 a.m. on Monday, the sale will move from Gate B to the Athletic Ticket Office inside the BJC. Student tickets will not be available after 4 p.m. on Monday.
The Nittany Lions will be playing at Northwestern for the last time until at least 2015, as the Wildcats rotate off the schedule in 2013 and ’14 and visit Happy Valley next year. Penn State leads the series, 11-3, winning 35-21 last year in Beaver Stadium and 34-13 two years ago in Chicagoland.
The Oct. 22 game will kick at 6 p.m. CT/7 p.m. ET and air on BTN, the Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com.
Should demand dictate it, student tickets will be sold through a wristband lottery. If the number of students in line by 7 a.m. exceeds the number of student tickets allocated for the Indiana game, a wristband lottery will be held. Students not in line by the time of the sale, 7 a.m., will not be included in the wristband lottery, should one be held.
Penn State students will have an opportunity to purchase tickets for every away game the Monday prior to each contest, with the lone exception being the season-ending game at Wisconsin (Nov. 26) due to Thanksgiving break from classes. The Wisconsin sale will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 15, one day after the student sale for the clash at Ohio State.
Penn State (5-1, 2-0) hosts Purdue (3-2, 1-0) on Saturday in the teams’ first meeting since 2008 and first as members of the Big Ten Leaders Division. Kickoff is set for noon in Beaver Stadium for Penn State’s 92nd Homecoming game, which will air on BTN, the Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com.
Tickets are available for the Nittany Lions’ home contests with Purdue and unbeaten Illinois (Oct. 29). Tickets can be purchased at www.GoPSUsports.com/tickets or by calling 1-814-865-5555 weekdays from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. . The Beaver Stadium Ticket office near Gate E will open Saturday at 8 a.m.
