WIKES-BARRE – Junior wide receiver Jarrin Campman of Clearfield registered his best performance of the season for Lycoming (4-1) in Saturday’s 42-10 Middle Atlantic Conference victory over host King’s (1-4) with 1,500 fans looking on at McCarthy Stadium.
He turned four receptions into a career-high 118 yards and scored one touchdown as the Warriors improved to 2-1 to stay tied for third place in the MAC.
His early 21-yard reception led to a 28-yard field goal by sophomore Zack Czap of Philipsburg, and his 40-yarder keyed a drive that set up Czap’s 29-yard three-pointer that gave Lycoming a 15-3 lead in the second quarter.
On the first play of the second half, Campman broke open over the middle to haul in Zach Klinger’s pass for a 49-yard TD that made it 29-3.
Senior wide receiver David Ryan of Clearfield also saw action for the Warriors.
Czap earned MAC Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the third time in his career by booting three field goals and pinning King’s inside its 20 on three of his four punts.
Campman has a team-high 20 receptions for 277 yards and two scores. He also has one punt return for 11 yards.
MAC statistics show him ninth in receptions per game with 4.0 and 10th in receiving yards per game with an average of 55.4.

CLARION – A quartet of former Curwensville Area High School gridders were on opposite sidelines Saturday afternoon when Clarion rolled past Lock Haven 54-6 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division duel that attracted a Homecoming Crowd of 5,519 into Memorial Stadium.
Redshirt junior linebacker Nate Sipes and redshirt senior Shawn Sopic helped the Clarion defense limit the visitors to 171 total yards as the Golden Eagles broke into the win column after five losses while handing the Bald Eagles their 36th consecutive defeat.
Sipes had four tackles, including one solo stop, and Sopic assisted on three tackles.
For Lock Haven, redshirt sophomore wide receiver Jesse Hoover caught three passes for 26 yards and redshirt freshman running back Jed Greslick of Grampian rushed six times for 26 yards on the Bald Eagles’ final possession after returning five kickoffs for 100 yards.
Sipes ranks fifth in the PSAC with 52 stops, 22 of them solo tackles, and two fumble recoveries, while Sopic has 32 tackles and one forced fumble. They are 1-2 in tackles for Clarion, now 1-2 in the PSAC-West.
Hoover has a team-high 18 receptions for 230 yards and two touchdowns for the Bald Eagles, and Greslick shows seven carries for 23 yards and six kickoff returns for a 19.8 average, all in the last two games.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Junior defensive back David Kalgren of Curwensville made three solo tackles and returned four kickoffs for 39 yards in Oberlin’s 47-21 non-conference loss to Case Western Reserve (4-1) in front of 1,204 fans at Case Field Saturday night.
The Yeomen, who trailed 37-7 at halftime, slipped under .500 for the first time at 2-3.
Kalgren sports 19 solo stops, two assists, one interception and four passes broken up.
He has returned 14 kickoffs for a 23.2 average and four punts for a 7.5 average and leads the Yeomen in all-purpose yards with 396, including 41 after his interception.

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Air Force Academy junior kicking specialist Parker Herrington of Clearfield nailed a pair of field goals and added one extra point in Notre Dame Stadium Saturday, but it was a long afternoon for the Falcons in spite of outgaining the Fighting Irish 565-560.
Notre Dame (4-2) scored at will in piling up a 42-16 lead by halftime and breezed to a 59-33 win as the 80,795 fans watched the teams combine for the most points ever in a game at the historic stadium.
Herrington got Air Force (3-2) on the board with a 34-yard field goal at the 5:48 mark of the first quarter and booted a 32-yarder on the first play of the fourth quarter.
He had one PAT try blocked.
Herrington leads the Falcons in scoring with 31 points. He has made five of six field goal attempts and 16 of 18 extra point tries.
Air Force will host San Diego State in a Mountain West Conference game that will be televised nationally by the CBS Sports Network Thursday night at eight o’clock.

ALBANY, N.Y. – Redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Nick Redden of Clearfield was utilized at both guard positions as well as a blocker for Duquesne (4-2) extra point, field goal and punt units in a disappointing 38-10 setback to Albany (3-2) with first place in the Northeast Conference at stake Saturday afternoon.
A crowd of 3,223 at University Field saw the Great Danes snap the Dukes’ four-game winning streak by scoring on their first three possessions to grab a 21-0 lead after one quarter. Albany is tied for the NEC lead at 2-0, while Duquesne slipped into a tie for third place at 2-1.

MOON TOWNSHIP – Freshman linebacker Andrew Redden of Clearfield played on special teams for St. Francis (1-5) in a 45-14 loss to defending Northeast Conference champion Robert Morris (2-3) Saturday.
The first night game at Joe Walton drew 4,384 fans, and the Colonials didn’t disappoint them by converting three Red Flash turnovers into a 35-0 halftime bulge on their way to their second NEC win that left that in a tie for first place with Albany (N.Y.).
The Red Flash have dropped all four NEC outings.

WOMEN’S SOCCER
CRESSON – Junior forward Pamela Pride of Clearfield got off two shots, one on goal, for Mount Aloysius (0-12) in a 3-0 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference loss to Hilbert at Hamburg, N.Y., Saturday.
The Lady Mounties failed to record a shot three days earlier in their ninth shutout setback, 7-0, at Penn State Altoona (7-4-2).
Pride has registered nine shots for the Lady Mounties, who are 0-5 in the AMCC.
