CLEARFIELD — The Clearfield Junior Varsity football team evened their record at 3-3 and exacted some revenge for the varsity loss on Friday by playing rude host to the Philipsburg-Osceola Mounties on Monday night at the Bison Sports Complex.
The Bisons scored a touchdown in each of the final three quarters and played near flawless defense in shutting out the Mounties 20-0.
Scatback Rico Longoria got the Bisons on the board first with his 7-yard touchdown run while Spencer Heerington tacked on the extra point to give the Bisons all of the scoring they woould need for the night.
Clearfield extended their lead in the third frame on a 25-yard toss from Tyler Woomer to Shawn Lord.
Seth Ford closed out the scoring with a late 23-yard touchdown run while Clearfield was basically trying to run out the clock. Herrington’s second extra point on the night set the final at 20-0.

Rushing: Rico Longoria 12-60 TD, Mike Trude 7-45, Seth Beardsley 12-86, Seth Ford 5-53 TD, Tyler Woomer 3-13
Receiving: Shawn Lord 3-49 TD, Seth Beardsley 2-30, Rico Longoria 1-5
On the defensive side, Seth Beardsley picked off an errant Mountie pass.
Clearfield will have an off week next week, as they will not host Hamburg Area. They will travel to Juniata on October 24 to try and climb above .500 for the season.
