Daniel John Jurcevich, Age 83 of Behringer Highway, DuBois, PA died Sept. 28, 2011 at his residence.
Born on April 26, 1928 in Johnstown, PA, he was the son of the late Louis Luka & Mary Ann (Rezek) Jurcevich.
He married his wife of 54 years, Rosemarie (Boldin) Jurcevich, on May 22, 1954.Â
He was veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War as a paratrooper and a military policeman stationed at Fort Campbell, KY.
Dan retired with the rank of Corporal from the Pennsylvania State Police DuBois Barracks after 31 years of service.
He was a 1947 graduate of the Johnstown High School. He was very active in the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge # 61 where he served as Past President. He was a member of the American Association of State Troopers and the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17, DuBois. He was a member of the Brookville Fireman’s Club, the Olympic Athletic Club, the McClusky Roynan Lodge #61, Past President of the F. O. P. Home Association, and St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.Â
He is survived by a son (Bruce K. Jurcevich and his wife Karin of San Jose, CA), a daughter in law (Desiree Jurcevich Guthridge of DuBois, PA) 3 sisters (Agnes Rudolph and Jean Jorkos both of Defiance, OH; and Valeria Trovato and her husband George of Johnstown, PA) 3 grandchildren (Summer, Shelby, and Saige Jurcevich) and 2 step grandchildren (Stephanie and Zachary Heller), and numerous nieces and nephews.Â
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons (Daniel J., & Michael D. Jurcevich) 2 brothers (Adam & Joseph Jurcevich), and 5 sisters (Angela Meredith, Mary Cernic, Josephine Lunko; Matilda Settlemire, and Mildred Murray)Â
Visitation will be held on Sept. 30 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. from the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc.Â
A scriptural wake service will be held on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. from the funeral home.Â
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Oct. 1 at 10 a.m. from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Honors will be accorded by the Pennsylvania State Police Honor Guard from the Church.
Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
