Moderate to minor injuries were reported following a single-vehicle accident at 4:30 a.m. Saturday on Old Grade Road in Washington Township, Jefferson County. An 18-year-old Brockport man was traveling west in the right lane when he reached for food on his vehicles floor. At that time, his vehicle veered right off the roadway and traveled 105 feet along the north berm before the passengers-side’s front struck a large tree. His vehicle continued traveling west for another 24 feet, where the front of the vehicle struck a second large tree, coming to a rest against it. The man and his 19-year-old passenger, Kara M. Ross of Brockway sustained moderate injuries. A third occupant, a 15-year-old Brockway girl, sustained minor injuries. None of the occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. The operator was charged with vehicle code violation 3714. Police were assisted at the scene by the Falls Creek Volunteer Fire Department and Brockway and Dusan Ambulance.
At 11 p.m. Friday, an incident of disorderly conduct reportedly occurred when an 18-year-old Latrobe man went to a 32-year-old Brookville man’s home and started yelling and swearing at the victim and his family. Charges of disorderly conduct have been filed against the accused.
Minor injuries were reported following a single-vehicle accident that occurred at 5:37 p.m. Friday along Interstate 80 west of Smithtown Road in Washington Township, Jefferson County. A 33-year-old Mount Prospect, IL man traveled off the left-hand side of the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned onto the roadway. He was wearing the seatbelt at the time of the accident. He’s been charged with driving a vehicle at a safe speed.
