DUBOIS – The Sandy Township Supervisors authorized the near final payment to Kukurin Contracting for the Kiwanis Waterline Project.
The water system is already operational. The booster station pumps are in use. The tank has been filled. There are currently some problems with residual chlorine, but that has been attributed to lack of water movement due to the current low usage.
Only 147 of the 226 new customers have submitted applications to tie in yet. The 226 new customers will have six months starting from Sept. 20 to get hooked into the waterlines.
The DEP water operating permit has been granted.
Final payment of $60,625 will be given to Kukurin Contracting once the punch list has been completed. One of the outstanding items is a fence around the water tank.
