Stephen Paul Kozak, 89 of South Philipsburg, passed away Aug. 28, 2011at his residence.
Born March 29, 1922 in Oak Grove, Morrisdale RD, he was the son of the late Matthew and Susan (Pedmo) Kozak.
On on June 16, 1950 in Morrisdale he wed Dorothy Mae (Brown) Kozak, who died Aug. 9, 2009.
He is survived by one son and one daughter:

Seven grandchildren: Doug Kozak, Steven G. Kozak, Patricia Ann Piwowar, Brandy Dawn Kozak, Michael Gathagan Jr., Michael Lanich, Eric Lanich
And five great-grandchildren: Tristan, Trevor, Tyler, Nathan and Alaina
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers George and Thomas, and sister Evelyn
He worked as a meat cutter and was a meat dept. manager for several markets including the former Riverside, Philipsburg; he was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg; he was a WWII veteran of the US Army and he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Sept. 1 at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg, with Fr. Robert J. Kelly as celebrant. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Philipsburg, where military honors will be conducted by the Moshannon Valley Independent Honor Guard. Friends will be received at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg, on Aug. 31 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. A vigil service will be conducted by Fr. Kelly and the Rosary will be recited at 6:15 p.m. by the Altar and rosary Society.
