CLEARFIELD – The Lawrence Township Police Department has revealed more details about the search for a missing Clearfield man that occurred over the weekend.
According to a press release from LTPD Chief Jeff Fink, law enforcement and other agencies searched for Justin Demko on Friday and Saturday. Fink stated that Demko, 27, has been missing since July 1, 2011.
Fink said police acted on information recently received within the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office. The search began on property near the RJ Corman railroad yard in Clearfield Borough. The search involved the immediate area and expanded east into the rural residential area of Wolf Run.
Fink said that numerous agencies assisted in the search for Demko, including the Pennsylvania State Police Aviation Division, which provided aerial support while manpower, both law enforcement and volunteer, combed the land. Search efforts continued into remote areas along the Susquehanna River by use of personal watercraft.
A continuation of the search using updated locations led to agencies to a second searc site in the Guinea Hill Road area of Lawrence Township.
Anyone with information on Demko’s whereabouts is urged to contact police at 814-765-1533. Demko is described as caucasion, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, has green eyes and brown hair and is about 160 pounds.
Law enforcement agencies that assisted in the search were the Clearfield County District Attorney’s Office, the Pennsylvania State Police and Pennsylvania State Police Aviation Division, the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office and the Clearfield Borough Police Department.
Other agencies that assisted were Caesar Southwest Dog Team of Greenville, PA, Clearfield County Emergency Management Agency. Clearfield Emergency Medical Services, the Red Cross, Lawrence Township Fire Department Stations 5, 6, 7, Clearfield Fire Department, Clearfield Borough and Lawrence Township Fire Police, Curwensville Fire Department, BJW Fire Department, DuBois Fire Department, Sandy Township Fire Department, Goshen Fire Department, and the Morris Township Fire Department.
