DUBOIS – The Second Annual Suicide Prevention and Awareness Walk will be held at the DuBois City Park and amphitheater on Sept. 10 from 12-5 p.m.  Registration for the event will start at noon and festivities will start at 1:00 p.m. and end around 5:00 p.m. The Walk will be no longer than two miles and will be held regardless of inclement weather conditions.
The event brought in $13,000 last year, which provided funds to promote awareness and education throughout Clearfield and Jefferson counties. The money has been used to support local trainings and a speaker’s series on suicide prevention and awareness. The team has also placed information on billboards, placemats, and brochures and recently published a Web site.
The contact person for the Walk is Mary Brown, the Suicide Prevention Team Coordinator at 371-5100 extension 330 or more information and registration materials can be found on their Web site.
