Cecilia M. “Ceci” Lizotte, 63, of Clearfield, passed away Saturday July 30, 2011 at the Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clearfield after a lengthy illness.
Born October 22, 1947 in Ginter, PA, she was the daughter of Michael and Bernice (Bogus) Supenia. Mrs. Lizotte was an LPN having worked for Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation for 35 years, 22 of those as the Charge Nurse for the 2nd Floor Critical Care Unit. She retired in 2009.
She was a graduate of Moshannon Valley Area High School and a 1965 graduate of the Bellefonte School of Nursing.
She was proud to be a nurse and serve her patients and their families. She has cared for thousands of her community members throughout her career and mentored hundreds of long term care providers. She was known for her dedication to her patients and expecting more from herself than anyone she was teaching. “Ceci” loved her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
On April 20, 1968 in Fort Wayne, Indiana she wed Ronald P. Lizotte who survives along with 3 daughters. Cristina Lizotte Delaney and her husband Ronald of South Carolina, Heather Guthrie and her husband Rich of Maryland, and Megan Rice and her husband Mark of Colorado.
She was known as “Grammy” to six grandchildren: Mark Delaney and his wife Katie, Emily Delaney, Sydney and Simon Guthrie, Noe’ Lizotte and Gavin Rice and a great granddaughter Alexandra Delaney.
She is also survived by 5 sisters and a brother. Frances Greenaway and her husband Bob of Madera, Anastacia Knezevic and her husband Mike of New Jersey, Joanne Bunyak and her husband Bernie of Tennessee, Bernadette Washick and her husband Bob of Millersville, PA, Monica Supenia and her Fiancée’ Mark Martell of Clearfield, and Vincent Supenia and his wife Mariel of Houtzdale.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers Michael Supenia Jr. and Samuel Supenia, and 2 sisters Patricia Kechison and Angela Britton.
Memorial Services for Mrs. Lizotte will be held at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church 1010 Dorey St. Clearfield, PA on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 1:00 PM, with the Reverend Mark Brower officiating. Interment will be in the Bradford Cemetery, Woodland.
Friends will be received at the Church on Saturday August 13, 2011 from 12:00 Noon until time of services at 1:00 PM.
The family suggests contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
