Andrew Gallo, 88 of Lebanon and formerly of Chester Hill, passed away on July 30, 2011 at Cedar Haven, Lebanon.
Born March 10, 1923, he was the son of the late Paul and Mary (Guy) Gallo.
He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Philipsburg; an Army Veteran of WWII; employed for 26 years for Robert Bailey Coal Company and 15 years with the Philipsburg-Osceola School District until retiring.
On July 10, 1944 in Philipsburg, he wed the former Helen Sudik, who preceded him in death on Aug. 17, 2006.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and four brothers.
He is survived by daughters Nancy Muchinski and her husband Chester of Palmyra and Andrea Schnarrs and her husband Gordon of Spring Hill, TN; brother Paul Gallo of Philipsburg; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Aug. 6, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Philipsburg, with the Rev. Gerald Krum officiating. Burial will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Aug. 5 from 5-8 p.m. at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home and 10-11 at the church on Sunday. Military Honors will be accorded by members of the Moshannon Valley Independant Honor Guard.
