PHILIPSBURG – Four Weis Market store employees have been accused of stealing controlled substances from the store’s pharmacy, the Philipsburg-based state police reported this morning.
The accused were identified as Christopher Dombroski, 45, of Houtzdale; Denishia Maines, 27, of Philipsburg and Jenna Millinder, 25, and Christina Kopchik, 37, both of Morrisdale.
Dombroski has been charged with three counts of violations of the controlled substance, drug, device and cosmetic act and two counts each of theft and receiving stolen property. Maines, Millinder and Kopchik were charged with theft, receiving stolen property and possession of a controlled substance.
According to the report, in March 2011, Weis Market contacted the state police and suspected controlled substances were being stolen by employees from their pharmacy at the Philipsburg store. Police were told that large amounts of scheduled drugs were missing after completing inventory at the store.
The alleged victim told police that they believed the thefts started in 2010 and continued through February 2011. An investigation was subsequently initiated by the Pennsylvania State Police Troop G Vice and Narcotic Unit.
Dombroski was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Allen Sinclair on July 22. His bail was set at $25,000 unsecured, and he was released. His preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 31. Maines, Millinder and Kopchik were forwarded a summons by Sinclair to appear for a preliminary hearing Aug. 31 at the Centre County Courthouse.
