DECATUR TOWNSHIP – A 29-year-old Philipsburg woman was killed Thursday morning after losing control of her vehicle along U.S. Route 322 in Decatur Township.

The Clearfield-based state police identified the woman as Heather M. Bainey, 29, of Philipsburg. She died at the scene as the result of injuries sustained in the accident.

Bainey wasn’t wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident. Her vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene.

According to the accident report, Bainey was traveling westbound at approximately 10:17 a.m. when she lost control of her 2000 Volkswagen Jetta. Her vehicle slid sideways off the left side of the roadway.

After leaving the roadway, her vehicle struck a ditch, which sent it airborne at which point it struck three vehicles: a 1988 Chevrolet 1500, a 1990 Chevrolet Lumina and a 2001 GMC Sierra. All three vehicles were legally parked, state police said.

The three parked vehicles sustained moderate to severe damage. State police were assisted at the scene by Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services and the Philipsburg and Morrisdale fire companies.
