Elizabeth L. “Tub” Platzer, 84, of Hyde and most recently of Reynoldsville, PA passed away on July 18, 2011 at the Morning Glow Manor of Reynoldsville.
She was born in Yeagertown, PA on Feb. 23, 1927, the daughter of Donald E. Tate and Mary (Gilbert) Sticker.
Mrs. Platzer was formerly employed at the Village Inn of Hyde as a bar attendant.
Mrs. Platzer was a member of the John Lewis Shade Post #6, American Legion Auxiliary, Michael Sicks Post #1785. V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Hyde Fire Company Auxiliary.
She is survived by a son, William Weikel, Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Warren, OH, three step-children; Allen Platzer of Lewistown, PA, Patricia Ray of PA and George Platzer and his wife Hazel of Hyde, PA and several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Mrs. Platzer was the last member of her generation having been preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harry B. Platzer who passed away on April 20, 1989, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield on July 21 at 11:00 a.m. with her son, Mr. William Weikel, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the St. Mark’s Cemetery, Lewistown, PA.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on July 21 from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the services.
