HOUTZDALE – A corrections officer at SCI-Houtzdale was taken for treatment after an inmate reportedly assaulted him on June 9.
According to the state police in Clearfield, the prison was locking down for the night when inmate Robert Fennell reportedly refused to enter his cell. Police said a CO was closing the door when Fennell pushed the door back, causing the CO to lose his balance. Police said Fennell then began to punch the CO.
Fennell was charged with aggravated assault.
